Soninho's Fervedouro Well
Undoubtedly this is the most famous of the wells in Jalapão, where the phenomenon of resurgence occurs: water that springs up in a soil of very fine sand that, when turned over, prevents you from sinking. It's like quicksand, only in reverse. Only six people can enter at a time, staying fifteen minutes.
Formiga Waterfall

Old Waterfall
One of the main attractions of the region with its crystal clear waters, strong currents and
25 meters in the form of a horseshoe, and the biggest waterfall in Jalapão.
By a light trail we will reach the little beach of the waterfall, an extremely pleasant place, shaded with shallow and crystalline waters.
Serra do Espírito Santo viewpoint
A postcard of the region, the Serra do Espírito Santo is responsible for the sandstone dunes that form at its feet - the erosion process (rain and wind) guarantees the colorful hills. A viewpoint towards the summit offers a beautiful view that refers to Chapada Diamantina. To go up there, you need physical preparation.
BONITO
BEST TIME
Between December and March, it is the rainy season, when the vegetation is green, the animals appear, as they have food to spare; the level of the rivers is high and the waterfalls are torrential.
Between May and August is the time when the rivers are more crystalline and with many fish but the fields are dry, the fires are constant and the fauna flees in fear for better pastures.

Blue Lake Grotto
The cave, which has a lake of crystalline blue water inside, was discovered by a Terena Indian in 1924. The sun's rays penetrate the lake, from about 90 meters deep, causing an incredible visual effect, enhanced by speleothems. To access it, you need to make a short trail in the woods and go down a 100m descent. There is believed to be an underground river that feeds the lake. Bathing is not allowed on site or the entry of children under 5 years old.

After a short walk through the riparian forest, the adventure begins in the rapids of the Rio Formosinho in individual buoys for 7 km. Boat trip on the Rio Formoso
Ride in rubber boats with capacity for up to 12 people, on a 6 km course along one of the main rivers in the region. The tour passes through three waterfalls and two rapids and, when in calm waters, it is possible to swim and dive. You can see several birds and animals on the river bank. The landing takes place on Ilha do Padre where there is infrastructure with decks, toilets, changing room, bar, snack bar and restaurant.
Sucuri River
Located on Fazenda São Geraldo, 18 km from Bonito, it offers a float of around 50 minutes in its crystal clear waters. The tour begins with a walk along trails and viewpoints in the middle of the riparian forest and a brief training in the water. The return to the farmhouse is done by car. The place also offers a restaurant, bike ride, quadricycle and horseback riding.
Macaws Hole
Trail around a hill 124 meters deep and 160 meters in diameter, which provides a panoramic view of its interior, where scarlet macaws and other birds return at the end of the day. At its bottom is a large lake and some reptiles. Its fauna and flora are very particular. It is located 58 km from the city of Bonito, on the way to Rio da Prata.
Anhumas Abyss
Located 23km from Bonito, it is the ideal place for rappelling. Descent 72 meters high, through a rock crevice, which leads to an extensive cave with magnificent speleothems and a lake with crystal clear waters 80 m deep. There is also free diving or autonomous diving (down to 18m allowed for those with a certificate) to observe the incredible limestone formations. To ensure the safety of participants, specific training is carried out and activities are carried out in small groups.

Crystal clear lake that offers a view of various ornamental fish and aquatic plants. The float is made on a course of 800 meters in the Baía Bonita Ecological Reserve, 6km from Bonito. Boca da Onça waterfall
It is the largest in the state, with 156 meters high. Tour made along a 4 km trail (about 3 hours of walking), passing by several waterfalls and natural pools. On site you can practice abseiling from a platform, a descent of 90 meters in height in negative, that is, without the support of the feet on the rocks. The activity provides a fantastic view of the Salobra River Canyon and takes place after guidance at the Practical Training Center in the city of Bonito or at the farm's headquarters.
Mimosa Resort
The farm has 400 hectares and is 24 km from Bonito. It offers an interpretive trail through the riparian forest of the Mimoso River, along which around 8 waterfalls, small caves, viewpoints and natural pools are visited. There are still good chances to observe wild animals, in addition to centenary trees, orchids and bromeliads that complement the scenery. There are horseback riding as an optional tour and a restaurant with regional dishes and sweets.
PANTANAL
BEST TIME
From December to March it rains a lot, the vegetation takes on new life; the animals and birds migrate to the higher parts, concentrating more on the side of the roads. In April and May the rains stop, but the scenario is almost the same, as the water level is very high.
June and July are the months when the water level starts to drop and fish, animals and birds are most abundant. From August to November, the water level can be seen to drop significantly, revealing the ravines and beaches on the banks of the river.

From January to May, the rainy season, when the animals are even more active, in addition to the small arms of rivers and channels that are also accessible by canoe.
Between June and September, the rains have stopped, but the rivers reach their maximum height. At that time it is possible to sail in canoes and small boats at the height of the treetops. The dry period, from September to December, is ideal for walking and enjoying the white sand beaches formed on the banks of the rivers.

Hike to observe countless species of plants in the middle of virgin forest, streams of crystal clear waters and natural savannas. More than 10km² of trails allow you to explore the jungle spotting exotic orchids and gigantic trees. During the walk, always accompanied by experienced guides, you will be shown how and where to get edible fruits and drinking water, as well as finding yourself among the trees and bushes and getting to know more about some medicinal plants.
Alligator night focus
Departure from the hotel in canoes (motorized or not) to enjoy the sounds of the jungle at night, with the possibility of spotting small alligators (or other nocturnal animals). Once the alligator is paralyzed by the strong light of the guides' flashlight, the animal's eyes glow like small red lights, thus allowing it to be located. The guide will then attempt to carefully pick up the alligator with his bare hands and bring it on board. Then the small animal is cautiously returned to the river.
Note: in the high season of the rivers (May, June, July) and during moonlit nights, it becomes more difficult to locate alligators.
Visit the caboclo house
Departure by canoe (motorized or not), to learn about the customs and traditions of the riverside inhabitants, called "caboclos" (mixture between white and Amazonian Indians). There, the history of the Amazonian population, the rubber cycle, etc., is explained. The process of producing cassava flour and the smoking of rubber latex can be appreciated.

The Wild Animal Rehabilitation and Reintroduction Center, known as "Monkey Forest", was created in 1991 with the aim of receiving animals confiscated from illegal trade and has the help of the Triage and Quarantine Center of the Municipal Department of Environment and Sustainability - SEMMAS. Here, the animals are initially quarantined to be evaluated and treated by a team of veterinarians and biologists. In partnership with the FFV (Fundação Floresta Viva), a non-profit institution maintained by the Amazon Ecopark Jungle Lodge, a food practice was created. Twice a day (10:30 am and 3:30 pm) the animals receive supplements of food that they take from the forest, with nutrients necessary for a healthy diet. At this moment, the place is open to visitors, always accompanied by qualified professionals, allowing to film and photograph these animals in a totally natural and safe environment.

Departure from the hotel by speedboat (voadeiras) towards the upper “Rio Negro”. After approximately 1:30h of breathtaking views, you will arrive at the place where there is a floating platform. Experienced “caboclos” will give instructions on how to interact and feed the huge dolphins.
Meeting of the Waters
The dark waters of the Rio Negro meet the muddy waters of the Rio Solimões, running side by side, without mixing, for an extension of about 6 km, until it flows into the Atlantic Ocean. It is a much appreciated phenomenon that happens due to the difference in density, temperature and water velocity of both rivers.

The dry season is from April to October and the rainy season (generally not so intense) from November to March. Soon after these rainy months, the waterfalls are fuller and there is no longer so much risk of not enjoying the tour due to bad weather.

Pai Inácio Hill
The Morro offers a panoramic view of some of the most imposing elevations of Chapada, such as the Bacia, Mucugezinho, Sobradinho, Morrão and Morro do Camelo mountains.
Pratinha Grotto
Excavated by the Pratinha River, when it leaves the subsoil and comes to the surface. The Pratinha cave has characteristics of the limestone regions, with a bluish tone and crystalline waters, which when receiving the incidence of sunlight takes on a silver tone, hence the name. Very nice place for a bath.
Lapa Doce Grotto
Located in the municipality of Iraquara, 70 km from Lençóis. The crossing of 850 meters inside the cave lasts from an hour and a half to two hours. In this cave, formations such as stalagmites, stalactites, speleothems, columns and other fascinating beauties can be observed.
Mucugezinho River
20 km from Lençóis, with a 20-minute walk along the river bank. Its bed of misaligned stones forms several waterfalls and waterfalls, the largest being the Poço do Diabo, 22 m of fall and a very pleasant lake for bathing. Here we stayed for approximately 1 hour.
Enchanted Well
The well is 65 meters deep, 110 meters long and 70 meters wide with crystal clear waters. The penetration of solar rays intensifies a bluish color due to the existing limestone in the well.
Byzantine Cemetery
Construction from the end of the 19th century, at the entrance to Lençóis. From a distance, they look like mounds of salt on rocks, but when you get closer, the shapes become pointed, Gothic, like miniature churches and chapels. Walk among the white tombstones during the day and, at night, notice how the lighting turns everything into shades of blue.
Semper-Viva Project / Tiburtino and Piabinhas Waterfalls
The project studies a species of Evergreen endemic to the Mucugê region and which is on the verge of extinction due to indiscriminate collection. In the post-mining period, the collection of this type of plant was an economic alternative for the residents of the region. Within the project area, there are two waterfalls (Piabinhas and Tiburtino) with easy access.
Smoke Waterfall
An hour and a half hike uphill from Vila de Capão (68 km from Lençóis) takes us to the upper part of the waterfall. From a natural viewpoint it is possible to contemplate a stage at 340 m high, where the water of the waterfall seems to dance with the wind in an unparalleled spectacle.

Easily accessible on foot along the trail that leads to Serrano, this waterfall offers a refreshing bath. Located 2 km from the city of Lençóis (a 45-minute walk), the Primavera waterfall is the first of a series of spectacles offered by the local nature. With about 6 meters high, formed by the Grisante stream, a tributary of the Lençóis River, the Primavera Waterfall is a permanent one, with cold and strong water, great for massaging the body.
Buracão Waterfall
Close to the municipality of Ibicoara, this is one of the most beautiful places in Chapada that was discovered in 2001 by a small group of tourists. With more than 100 meters of circular drop and an impressive winding canyon, the Buracão waterfall is one of those places to take your breath away. After the view over the fall, it is possible to cross the canyon to see the waterfall below.
Sossego Waterfall
It is part of the Ribeirão River. The intensity of the trail is strong and the path is along the rocks on the river bed (7 km from Lençóis). There are interesting points along the way, such as ancient diamond mining areas, walls with interesting geological folds, plants and flowers of various species. At the end of a narrow canyon on the Ribeirão River, there is the first fall with about 15 m and a beautiful well with dark waters, great for a dip.
Lapa Doce Grotto
In a 1 km journey through the cave, you can see a large number of formations such as stalactites, stalagmites, curtains, etc. (70 km from Lençóis). It differs from most caves in the region for being wide, airy and almost entirely flat. Of its formations, the travertine lakes, the curtains, the angel wings and the chandelier stand out, as well as a river that flows into Pratinha.
Ribeirão do Meio
A moderate trail leads to the natural toboggan formed by the rapids that descend over slippery stone slabs and form a huge natural pool. Along with Cachoeira Primavera and Poço Halley or Poço Paraíso, the attraction is part of the so-called “waterfall route”, about 4 km from Lençóis.

The best time to visit the stunning Lençóis Maranhenses is during the rainy season, between December and July, when the numerous pools, formed over thousands of years by a rare geological phenomenon and the precipitation of rainwater, are fuller and more refreshing.

One of the great attractions of Jericoacoara is the visit to Pedra Furada.
